Ah, there are so many… but I think one of my favorites was helping Claire land a job at Facebook! She reached out to me super frustrated - she hadn’t gotten a single interview, even though she’d applied for all kinds of roles in her industry. She said she struggled to put her skills and strengths into words, and even after spending hours editing her resume, it still didn’t feel right.
When I looked it over, I saw exactly why. It lacked the right keywords to pass application scans, her accomplishments were buried under generic bullet points, and the layout didn’t stand out. Her background was impressive, but the resume just wasn’t responsive. I knew there was no way it was going to make it past Facebook’s online application scan. And let’s be honest, everyone knows Facebook is very picky and has incredibly high standards for who they hire.
So I gave it a complete overhaul - added a powerful professional summary that positioned her as an expert, created a keyword-packed skills section she could adapt for different roles, rewrote her entire work history to highlight her achievements, formatted it to perfection(down to the tiniest line spacing), and added just a hint of color for a fresh modern look. Every piece was intentional, designed to capture attention and showcase her value quickly.
Within days she got a phone screen. That led to a series of online assessments, and I prepped her for the interview over Zoom. Two weeks later, she called me - she'd been offered her dream job!
What makes me happiest isn’t just the success - it’s knowing I helped someone avoid missing out on an opportunity simply because of poor content and layout. Claire absolutely deserved that job, but without the resume rewrite, she probably would’ve kept applying without any results.
